Transfer Bulk Systems carries on the business of designing, engineering, manufacturing and installing high quality bulk chemical handling equipment systems for a wide variety of industrial clients for water and wastewater treatment. These systems include bulk storage and materials handling in which the process materials handled may be screened, sized, scaled, mixed, pumped, compounded or injected into a client's particular manufacturing process. The TBS bulk materials handling systems are designed to move the process materials from receiving, to storage, to final process consumption points in the most efficient and economical manner without compromising the long-term integrity of the client's facility or manufacturing process.

Transfer Bulk Systems and its' affiliate Stanco Projects specialize in designing and building these systems for the markets of industrial water and wastewater treatment applications for the Oil Sands industry. These applications typically include bulk handling systems for chemical reagents utilized in the process of purifying water or waste water process flow so that the process water can be recycled and conserved. These Oil Sands facilities can be traditional surface mining facilities or (SAGD) Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage systems, both which require significant volumes of water to process the oil bearing material. These water purification / conditioning systems typically utilize chemical sorbent or reagent materials such as quicklime (CaO), lime slurry or hydrated lime [Ca(OH)²], soda ash (Trona), powdered activated carbon (PAC), MagOx (MgO) and polymer coagulant materials. TBS has supplied many Oil Sands clients with Lime Slaking and Chemical feed systems for process water recycling applications.

Additionally, TBS can supply Oil Sands tailings equipment to neutralize pH imbalanced tailings or to coagulate and stabilize fine and coarse fractions of Oil Sands NST tailings properly prior to placement in surface deposition cells that can be remediated for future normal wildlife and land use.

All TBS Systems will incorporate specialty TBS manufactured or distributed components that together form the basis of the final engineered solution for the client. These system components could include, bolted or welded storage silos, glass lined silos, geodesic dome covered vessels, pneumatic conveying systems, dry and liquid chemical feed and metering devices, plow mixers, mixing and reaction vessels and process automation controls.
